36-year-old Brandon Scott of Westbrook, Maine was recently sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to distributing child pornography. Scott allegedly used the mobile messaging app Kik to trade child porn for eight years.

According to prosecutors, Scott had been sharing child porn on Kik since 2010. In 2018, Kik’s parent company MediaLab reported that Scott had been sharing images of child porn on their platform to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children who then forwarded the tip to the Maine State Police. Among the images found on Scott’s devices were images of children as young as two years old.
