A 12-year-old girl from here in Charlotte, NC was allegedly sexually assaulted by two of her Facebook friends. The article refers to the suspects as men. Details are very sparse on this story.

If the girl was sexually assaulted then the scumbags who did this are to blame but I have to remind parents again of two things about Facebook. The first is a 12-year-old girl has no business being on Facebook. The second is just because Facebook doesn’t have the reputation of MySpace doesn’t mean it’s any safer.
