Edinburg man faces MySpace sex assault case:

Police have arrested 34-year-old Gregorio Trujillo Mendez of Edinburg, Texas for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old boy he met on MySpace.

The way the encounters came to light was when the boy went to a doctor for a medical concern the doctors discovered that the boy had contracted chlamydia. It was then that the boy confessed to his relationship with Mendez.

The boy claims that he lied about his age to Mendez and would still want to be in the relationship if it wasn’t for that whole chlamydia thing. Then again for all we know, the boy could have been groomed into saying that.

This is just another reason why parents should be checking their kids’ internet activities. Would you rather find out about something like this while snooping in the computer or after your kid catches a case of the clap? It’s your call.
