53-year-old Christopher Hamrick of Boone, North Carolina has been charged with 57 counts of secret peeping, a felony in North Carolina. Hamrick was a local attorney in the small mountain town. Hamrick is accused of secretly recording women in the bathrooms at his home and his law offices over a period of years. He has reportedly recorded at least 19 victims.
According to reports, Hamrick was turned in by one of his own clients who discovered a recording device in Hamrick’s bathroom. After he was arrested, detectives found multiple cameras and recording equipment at his home and office along with a large collection of recordings.
As a lawyer himself, Hamrick was probably well aware that secret peeping is a felony in NC. He also probably knew that as a peeping tom he’d most likely be disbarred. Yet he still chose to victimize at least 19 women over several years. This is not someone who made a mistake, this is a serial predator who used his position of trust to gain access to victims.
