Before there were TV shows and YouTube channels dedicated to catching online predators, there was Perverted Justice. They were a volunteer organization that would pose as minors in online chat rooms and try to get predators to either send explicit photos or agree to meet for sex.
39-year-old Matthew Slagle of Muncie, Indiana was caught by Perverted Justice back in 2005 when he allegedly met with someone he believed to be a 15-year-old girl. He was convicted and served time in prison for that offense.
Fast forward to 2019, and Slagle has once again been arrested for allegedly trying to meet a minor for sex. This time, he was caught in a police sting after allegedly trying to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex. Slagle has been charged with child solicitation and has also had his probation revoked from a prior conviction.
Also noteworthy is that Slagle’s bond was raised to $75,000 after prosecutors revealed his prior record.
