Who watches the watchmen?: Ohio cop accused of using police wifi to trade child porn on Kik
Samuel Kurp

26-year-old Samuel Kurp was a police officer for the village of Elmore, Ohio. He recently resigned from his post after his arrest for allegedly sharing child porn on the mobile messaging app Kik.

Kurp is not only accused of sharing child porn on Kik at his parents’ home but is also accused of using the Elmore Police Department’s wifi while on duty.

The Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The task force then contacted the FBI who was able to trace the IP addresses back to Kurp.

One response to “Who watches the watchmen?: Ohio cop accused of using police wifi to trade child porn on Kik”

  1. Unbelievable that a federal judge would let Kurp out on bail. Each photo that Kurp possessed has a mandatory 5 year minimum and he surely had multiple photos. There must be more officers involved in this that Kurp will testify against.
